Christmas Party Season Styling Tips
It’s that time of year when you get to be experimental with your festive outfits! If you’re stuck for ideas on what to wear this festive season, we’ve come up with some fail-safe options that will make you look and feel great.
We asked stylist Roberta Lee, her best advice for the party season, and she encouraged us to think about timeless styles that can be worn all year round, but admitted it's nice to pull out the velvet, metalics and sequins, from the back of the wardrobe over the festive season. She said “At this time of year, women feel pressured to look good at the Office Christmas Party, but it’s best to wear something you feel truly comfortable in. Nothing screams confidence more than a woman happy in her own appearance”.
At Morphbag HQ we couldn’t agree more, we try to stay balanced in our approach, just like Roberta, we value style, practicality and sustainability in equal measure.
Christmas Party Outfit Accessories
It is the season of the almighty clutch bag. A good clutch bag can last you years and when you select one from The Mophbag you also get our cute little charm on a wrist strap.
Our bags were created with ‘being hands-free’ in mind. Holding a glass of champagne or having free hands to move as you dance — our little clutch bags are the perfect accessory this Christmas and for all the ones that follow — and every season in between.
The Morphbag clutch is the perfect party companion. It comes in 6 different colours and, of course, you can coordinate with our matching Tote bag. Leaving you plenty of room to pack your flats, so you can get home in comfort after a night of dancing.
How To Dress For A Christmas party
If you’ve got a work Christmas party coming up, then it’s likely that this will be the first one in a couple years (thanks to COVID-19) and you’ll want to make sure you can really enjoy yourself.
Given most work Christmas parties are indoors with a combination of food, drinking and party games (and lots of photos!) you’ll want to strike a balance between looking good, but being practical.
Christmas Party Outfit Ideas
We’ve created a variety of looks to help you pick your party look this season.
We’ve selected our rose gold clutch as it pairs brilliantly with a little black dress (but also works just as great with popular base colours that most of us have in our wardrobes like brown, green, cream/white or blue). Pair with black strappy shoes, or courts and team with a bold lipstick for an elegant, timeless and sophisticated party look.
We’ve selected our currant clutch as it also works well for tonal dressing with a similar colour dress, we’ve opted for a velvet number.
Pair with black strappy shoes, or courts and team with gold accessories for a striking Christmas look.
We’ve selected our currant clutch here again, as it works well teamed with a strappy back black evening dress (alternatively, it works great with navy too).
It screams sophistication and is a great alternative to those who aren't crazy about metallics. Plus, it’s a year-round look that isn’t just limited to Christmas.
We also recommend going for an up-do for the party season so that if you do start dancing you’ll stay looking fresh.
We’ve selected our metallic clutch with metallic for another festive take on tonal dressing. It’s definitely a more understated clutch bag colour option, if you want your dress to do all the talking.
Perfect for those who are crazy about metallics, Christmas is the time to go all out!
Not a clutch bag fan?
Don’t worry, you can still look super chic with a cross-body bag.
Here we’ve teamed up our brown cross-body bag (which can also be carried under the arm like an oversized clutch) with a white dress. We’ve opted for a really fancy tailored dress, so that the bag doesn’t pull focus, rich brown is a perfect match all that is needed is gold jewellery for the finishing touch.
